This is not a maintenance role.
This is a build-and-lead role.

The Role
As CIO, you will take full ownership of Hoxton’s global investment proposition.
You will:
- Lead strategy, governance, communication, and execution
- Build and develop a high-calibre investment team
- Evolve a proposition that is scalable, explainable, and governable
- Support advisers globally with clarity and conviction
Initially, you will inherit a small, capable team and a working (but unfinished) proposition. Your role is to raise the standard and scale it globally.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Proposition
- Design and evolve global model portfolios and multi-asset strategies
- Balance flexibility and choice without creating complexity or chaos
- Maintain a coherent, disciplined, and scalable investment framework
Governance & Regulation
- Operate confidently across UK, DIFC/UAE, EU, US, Australia, and Asia
- Own investment governance, oversight, documentation, and auditability
- Translate investment thinking into clear, client-ready language
- Equip advisers with materials they actually use
- Be present in difficult markets and key client conversations
Leadership & Team Build
- Lead, develop, and expand the investment function
- Set standards, create accountability, and remove bottlenecks
- Build a high-performance, ego-free culture
External Managers & Partners
- Select, challenge, and remove providers where necessary
- Build in-house capability where it strengthens the platform
Strategic Evolution
- Bring new ideas (private markets, innovation, technology, AI)
- Work closely with Product, Tech, Marketing, and Leadership
- Continuously raise the bar as the firm scales
Non-Negotiables
This is a senior leadership role. We are not training someone into it.
You must have:
- 10–15 years experience in wealth / asset management or related fields
- 5+ years of genuine people leadership experience
- Proven accountability for investment outcomes, not just process
- Strong experience operating in regulated environments
- Advanced investment qualifications (CFA, Level 7, or equivalent)
- The ability to write clearly and communicate complex ideas simply
