Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Business Partner to join a growing, fast-paced online organisation with approximately 350 employees across the UK. This is a 12-month maternity cover role, offering the chance to work within a dynamic and commercially focused environment.

The hybrid role is based in Newark, is a full time position (37.5 hours) and is paying up to £55k DOE.

The Role

This is a broad, generalist HR Business Partner position supporting managers across the business. The role will suit someone who enjoys a varied workload and thrives in a hands‑on environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a range of employee relations casework, primarily low‑level absence, disciplinaries and grievances
  • Supporting and leading on TUPE transfers
  • Reviewing and updating HR policies and the employee handbook
  • Coaching and advising line managers on HR policies, procedures and best practice
  • Supporting wider HR initiatives and contributing to continuous improvement of HR systems and processes

The Candidate

We are looking for a confident and pragmatic HR professional who can build strong working relationships across the business.

You will

  • Have proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally at HR Business Partner level
  • Be confident managing a varied ER caseload independently
  • Have experience supporting TUPE processes
  • Be comfortable updating and developing HR policies
  • Demonstrate strong coaching skills, with the ability to guide and challenge line managers appropriately
  • Be tech‑savvy, with strong HR systems experience and confidence using digital tools
  • Be able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
