Location: UK Wide (UK‑wide travel required).

Hours per week: 37.5.

Salary: Total package up to £108,809 (targets and allowances fully achieved).

Join SUEZ to help shape a more sustainable future. We’re a leading recycling and recovery company and our UK Lithium Battery Recycling business is growing fast. We’re looking for a commercially astute, client‑focused Business Development Manager to develop new business, win strategic contracts and build long‑term customer relationships across the UK.

About the role:

Identify and qualify opportunities, lead bids and negotiations, and be the primary commercial contact during contract implementation and thereafter. Build and manage a sales pipeline, refine our proposition, raise SUEZ’s profile in the lithium battery recycling market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a UK‑wide sales pipeline for lithium battery recycling services.
  • Identify, pursue and win new large B2B customers and strategic contracts.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and construct contract solutions that balance customer needs and margins.
  • Ensure smooth handover and implementation of new contracts and maintain ownership of the relationship to drive retention and growth.
  • Work closely with operations, technical and commercial teams to deliver excellent customer experience.
  • Represent SUEZ at industry events, build market intelligence and refine the sales proposition.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven track record of winning and developing large B2B corporate customers in a senior business development role.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage pricing, margins and contractual risk.
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and customer‑service skills.
  • Direct sales experience in the lithium battery recycling market is highly desirable; alternatively, strong experience in the UK waste and resource management or adjacent sectors.
  • Experience of technical solution selling.
  • An electromechanical engineering background or similar would be desirable.
  • Comfortable with UK‑wide travel; flexible working and UK catchment.
