About Rightmove

Our vision is to give everyone the belief they can make their move. We aim to make moving simpler, by giving everyone the best place to turn to and return to for access to the tools, expertise, trust and belief to make it happen.

We’re home to the UK’s largest choice of properties and are the go-to destination for millions of people planning their next move, reading the latest industry news, or just browsing what’s on the market.

These are the essential values that reflect our culture:

  • We create value… by delivering results and building trust with partners and consumers.
  • We think bigger… by acting with curiosity and setting bold aspirations.
  • We care deeply … by being real, having fun, and valuing diversity.
  • We move together … by being one team – internally collaborative, externally competitive.
  • We make a difference … by focusing on delivering measurable impact.

The role

As a senior member of the Experience Design team, you’ll collaborate with user research and partner with product design to support people throughout their moving journey on Rightmove. You’ll use and contribute to our Design System to keep patterns, language and behaviours consistent and aligned.

Reporting to the Content Design Manager, you’ll be based in our Soho London office two days a week, with occasional visits required to the Milton Keynes office.

What you’ll be doing

  • Owning content design on key initiatives, shaping clear and connected experiences.
  • Holding responsibility for the clarity, coherence, and effectiveness of content across the experiences you shape.
  • Sharing accountability for content quality, consistency and risk across product areas, providing senior judgement beyond individual delivery areas and mentoring other CD’s.
  • Partnering closely with product design, research, and product to shape user‑centred outcomes.
  • Bringing clarity to complex problems and guiding teams towards confident, informed decisions.
  • Supporting wider teams through prioritised work and drop‑in guidance, helping to scale content design across the organisation.
  • Using your own research and analysis, including user and market insights, to guide teams, inform decisions and challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Working with product design and research to shape end‑to‑end journeys where content and structure align across touchpoints.
  • Defining and evolving content patterns and structures, contributing to our Design System.
  • Framing challenges and identifying opportunities early.
  • Facilitating alignment across product, design, research and marketing.
  • Championing accessible, inclusive content and embedding it in how we work.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has a passion for user experience and making the process of renting, buying, selling and moving easier.
  • Thinks analytically about user journeys and how content shapes behaviour.
  • Enjoys being a proactive, hands‑on contributor and collaborative team player.
  • Brings a content‑design lens to any stage of the process: from user research, information architecture, user interface design, and embedding content strategically.
  • Manages their time comfortably to deliver on multiple defined problem spaces in a fast‑moving, agile environment.
  • Balances the needs of multiple stakeholders to prioritise tasks and deliver to deadlines.
  • Communicates their decisions clearly and can talk through their logic.
  • Understands user behaviour and business success through qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Experiments with language using user‑research tools to test and learn.
  • Proactively hunts out opportunities to impact a defined problem area.
  • Finds new and innovative ways to use generative AI to think, plan and design faster and better.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Proven experience designing content within complex, multi‑touch‑point journeys and product environments.
  • Strong information architecture skills, shaping clear structures, content models and patterns.
  • A track record of shaping product thinking through evidence and strategic framing.
  • Confidence contributing to and evolving design systems.
  • Skill in facilitating workshops and guiding teams to alignment.
  • Literacy in accessibility standards and inclusive design, with confidence applying both in practice.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other designers.
  • A passion for user experience and making the process of renting, buying, selling and moving easier.
  • Experience in marketplace or multi‑sided products, or curiosity to quickly build domain fluency.
  • Curiosity and openness to new tools and techniques, including thoughtful use of AI to improve quality and efficiency.

What we offer

  • Cash plan for dental, optical and physio treatments
  • Private medical insurance, pension and life insurance, employee assistance plan
  • 27 days holiday plus two paid volunteering days a year to give back, and holiday buy schemes
  • Hybrid working pattern with two days in office
  • Contributory stakeholder pension
  • Life assurance at 4x your basic salary to a spouse, family member or other nominated person in your life
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Paid leave for maternity, paternity, adoption and fertility
  • Travel loans, bike‑to‑work scheme, rental deposit loan
  • Charitable contributions through payroll giving and donation matching
  • Access deals and discounts on things such as travel, electronics, fashion, gym memberships and cinema discounts
