Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with 4–5 years of practical experience to support the design, implementation, and optimisation of electrical systems and infrastructure. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys a mix of hands‑on engineering and project involvement.

The successful candidate will contribute to electrical design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering & Design
  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and components
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Support equipment selection and specification
  • Participate in new installations, upgrades, and commissioning
  • Operations & Maintenance
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement corrective actions
  • Support preventative and predictive maintenance programmes
  • Optimise system reliability and uptime
  • Work closely with maintenance and production teams
  • Projects
  • Contribute to electrical engineering projects from planning to execution
  • Support project timelines, budgets, and documentation
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams
  • Assist in commissioning and handover of projects
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure adherence to electrical standards and regulations
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety policies
  • Support audits and risk assessments
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Professional registration (ECSA or working towards) is advantageous
  • Experience
  • 4–5 years relevant experience in an industrial or project environment
  • Exposure to electrical systems design, maintenance, or commissioning
  • Experience in sectors such as manufacturing, mining, energy, or FMCG preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and control panels
  • Experience with PLCs, drives, and automation (advantageous)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards
  • Proficiency in engineering tools/software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN)
