Role Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to support a growing portfolio of advanced CNC and precision engineering equipment across the UK. The role will focus on delivering high-quality service, maintenance and technical support to customers, ensuring equipment reliability and performance standards are consistently met. This is a field-based position involving nationwide travel with occasional overnight stays.
Key Duties
- Perform planned maintenance, inspections and technical upgrades on precision CNC equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on customer sites
- Respond to breakdowns and restore equipment to operational status within agreed timeframes
- Assist with machine installations, commissioning and refurbishment projects where required
- Complete service documentation and maintain accurate technical records
- Provide professional and responsive customer support
- Liaise with internal technical teams to resolve complex issues and maintain service standards
Skills & Experience Required
- Engineering apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification
- Multi-skilled engineering background with strong mechanical knowledge
- Experience working on CNC machinery, precision equipment or other capital machinery within manufacturing environments
- Confident fault-finding across electrical and mechanical systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload independently
- Flexible to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays
- Strong communication skills and a professional customer-facing manner
Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
