Overview
A new vacancy has been created for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing Building Services team in Woking.
This is a senior–level opportunity suited to a technically strong mechanical engineer who can take ownership of projects, lead design delivery, and play a key role within the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of building services projects from concept through to completion
- Take technical ownership of HVAC, heating, cooling and ventilation systems
- Produce and review detailed mechanical calculations and specifications
- Oversee drawing production and ensure compliance with UK standards
- Coordinate with electrical, public health and other multidisciplinary teams
- Attend client and design team meetings
- Mentor and support junior engineers
- Contribute to maintaining high technical and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience operating at the Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer level
- Strong background in Building Services mechanical design
- Excellent technical knowledge of HVAC and associated systems
- Experience delivering projects across multiple RIBA stages
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage workload and support project deadlines
