Up to £55,000 per annum

Overview

Our client, a growing construction and electrical contracting business based in Bedford, delivers projects across building, engineering, fit-out and electrical services. They are now seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead compliance, governance and performance across the organisation.

This is a hands‑on leadership role within an SME environment, working closely with senior management to drive a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across multiple UK sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing the company’s Health & Safety Management System.
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and all relevant H&S legislation.
  • Managing the corporate risk register and overseeing audits and inspections.
  • Producing KPI dashboards and performance reports for senior leadership.
  • Leading incident investigations and implementing preventative actions.
  • Supporting project teams with RAMS, CPPs and subcontractor compliance.

Key Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction or electrical contracting.
  • NEBOSH General and Construction Certificate (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and risk management.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence at all levels.
  • Commercially aware and solutions-focused.
