This is a high-impact leadership role, working closely with Tier 1 contractors, internal teams, regulators, and senior stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and set new standards for safety excellence in the nuclear sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Principal Contractor arrangements aligned to evolving site risk profiles
  • Drive continuous improvement programmes and consistent safety messaging across contractors
  • Coach and influence senior leaders to strengthen safety culture and behaviours
  • Manage relationships with regulators
  • Support emergency response planning, assurance activities, and departmental budgets
  • Lead, develop, and empower a high-performing health & safety team

You will bring:

  • Proven experience on large or medium-scale construction projects, ideally within EPC environments
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, nuclear regulatory frameworks, and complex compliance environments
  • Ability to influence and build trust across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience engaging with regulators and senior leadership teams
  • A pragmatic, collaborative, and emotionally intelligent leadership style

  • Strong background in behavioural safety and safety culture improvement
  • Experience managing teams in high-risk, highly regulated environments

Additional Information

  • Contractual location: Hinkley Point C
  • Minimum 4 days per week on site
  • Must meet UK Security Vetting requirements (typically 3 of the last 5 years UK residency)

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a landmark UK infrastructure project
  • Influence safety strategy at the highest level
  • Long-term career development within a major nuclear programme
  • Opportunity to set new benchmarks for construction safety
