Apply for the Associate Development Director
Location: Manchester
Job Description:

Peel NRE, part of the Peel Land Group, is a leading UK regeneration and infrastructure business, focused on unlocking long-term value through the transformation of brownfield and former industrial land into sustainable, future-ready places. With a track record of delivering nationally significant schemes, Peel NRE creates developments that drive economic growth, enhance communities and deliver positive environmental outcomes.

We are seeking a Associate Development Director to support the delivery of complex, large-scale regeneration projects from acquisition through to completion. This is a broad and commercially focused role spanning acquisition, planning, infrastructure delivery, commercial management and stakeholder engagement, working across a diverse portfolio of strategic sites.

You will play a key role in shaping and progressing developments that create lasting social, economic and environmental value — helping to bring forward major regeneration schemes that respond to market demand, align with policy and deliver long-term sustainable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting land and development acquisitions, including due diligence, site constraints, and risk/opportunity analysis
  • Managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary consultant teams (planning, design, engineering, cost, legal, environmental)
  • Driving projects through the planning and consent process, supporting strategy, submissions and negotiations
  • Working with the Finance team to prepare development appraisals, financial modelling, viability testing and commercial reporting
  • Supporting the delivery of infrastructure and enabling works, including programme, risk and stakeholder management
  • Working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure projects remain commercially robust and deliverable
  • Supporting procurement and appointment of professional teams, contractors and advisors
  • Managing stakeholder relationships, including local authorities, statutory bodies, community stakeholders and landowners
  • Ensuring ESG considerations are embedded throughout projects, including sustainability targets, social value and long-term place-making outcomes

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years’ experience in development, regeneration, real estate or infrastructure-led projects
  • Commercial awareness with experience preparing appraisals, viability and investment decision-making
  • Confidence managing consultants, coordinating multiple workstreams and delivering against programme
  • Experience working with (or alongside) local authorities and public sector stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
  • A proactive, organised approach with strong attention to detail and sound judgement

Qualifications (preferred)

  • MRICS or equivalent commercial and development experience.
