About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading public sector technology programme, is seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to support the High‑Level Design (HLD) and prototyping phase of a large‑scale Cloud Migration initiative.
You will play a critical role in modernising a major database platform as part of a strategic move to AWS. This is a high‑visibility transformation project focused on cloud‑native architecture, automation, and containerisation.

Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD (GitOps approach) and Helm
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
Support containerisation and migration of legacy batch workloads into Kubernetes environments
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to enhance build, deployment, and operational workflows
Maintain version control systems, artifact registries, and pipeline integrations
Ensure AWS environments align with best practices for security, scalability, and reliability
Required Experience & Skills
Proven DevOps engineering experience in cloud‑first environments
Hands‑on expertise with:
GitLab CI/CD
ArgoCD
Helm
Terraform
Kubernetes
Strong understanding of GitOps methodologies
Experience supporting cloud migration or transformation programmes
Familiarity with AWS architecture and operational best practices
Ability to work in hybrid delivery environments
Mandatory: Minimum 5 years continuous UK residency requirement.
