Mechanical Services Contract Engineer / Project Manager – London & South East
Role Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Services Contract Engineer / Project Manager to join a small, hands‑on HVAC company. This role offers full end‑to‑end responsibility for delivering mechanical building services projects across London and the South East.
You will manage a variety of systems, including:
- Commercial HVAC: VRF/VRV, chillers, AHUs, FCUs
- Ventilation systems
- Commercial heating plant rooms: boilers, pumps, pressurisation units
- Pipework installations: LTHW, CHW, condenser water, gas
- Controls integration and BMS coordination
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all technical engineering aspects of projects from design to commissioning.
- Manage project budgets, procurement, and commercial performance.
- Lead site teams, supervise direct labour, and coordinate subcontractors.
- Ensure projects comply with relevant regulations, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.
- Work closely with clients, providing technical guidance and progress updates.
- Participate in hands‑on installation and problem‑solving where required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mechanical services, HVAC systems, or building services engineering.
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC, ventilation, heating plant, and pipework systems.
- Experience in project management and contract administration.
- Hands‑on approach with site leadership experience.
- Ability to supervise and motivate small teams and subcontractors.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to travel across London and the South East.
