We’re looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join our client on a short‑term contract, providing high‑quality technical support across multiple sites. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, problem‑solving, and supporting users in a busy environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and support IT hardware, software, and related equipment
- Deliver customer‑focused IT support to users at all levels
- Troubleshoot incidents, resolve technical issues, and maintain accurate service records
- Assist with the installation of racks, cabling, sockets and network‑connected devices
- Support system administration, infrastructure tasks and project work
- Manage the IT equipment lifecycle, including deployment, upgrades and decommissioning
- Liaise with third‑party suppliers to ensure SLAs are met
- Produce clear documentation including technical notes, procedures and configuration updates
- Contribute to the out‑of‑hours support rota when required
- Ensure compliance with security, data protection and internal IT policies
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in IT Service Delivery
- 5+ years supporting IT hardware in a complex environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Active Directory
- Experience supporting data and communications networks
- Confident with desktop builds, imaging and ongoing maintenance
- Good understanding of IT security principles and best practice
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
