About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Field Service Engineer to join a leading global provider of combustion and environmental solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for on-site commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting legacy installed fired equipment. You will work closely with end-users, ensuring operational excellence and safety while contributing to cutting-edge engineering projects.
This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of combustion technologies including flare systems, boiler and process burners, thermal oxidizers, vapor recovery systems, and advanced pollution control equipment.
Key Responsibilities for Field Service Engineer
- Conduct on-site commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, fault analysis, and installation supervision of fired equipment.
- Prepare Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), site reports, and maintain accurate timesheets.
- Start up and maintain combustion products and systems, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
- Identify opportunities for additional aftermarket spares and site service support.
- Supervise on-site turnarounds/outage contracts and deliver both classroom and on-site training to end-user personnel.
- Adhere to Health & Safety policies and promote a safe working environment at all times.
Candidate Profile for Field Service Engineer
- Technical Expertise: Multi-skilled technician/engineer with strong mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and PLC control knowledge.
- PLC Experience: Hands‑on experience with Siemens and Allen‑Bradley systems.
- Independent & Collaborative: Able to work autonomously or as part of a team with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Travel Ready: Willing to travel extensively across Europe and the Middle East for 1‑2 week periods.
- Safety Focused: Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and offshore environments.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills, with good computer proficiency.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in combustion within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industries is advantageous.
