Description
Are you ready to take ownership of critical test and development activities within a world‑class motorsport environment? We’re looking for a highly skilled Lead T&D Engineer to drive innovation, efficiency and performance across our Test & Development department.
In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure our test capabilities, equipment, and processes stay at the forefront of engineering excellence. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact engineering role that shapes the future of our testing capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Own all test and development activity within your assigned functional area.
- Work closely with Planning, Structures and Design teams to assess incoming test requirements.
- Ensure delivery of all key T&D equipment, TAP tests and data for your area.
- Organise and coordinate design, test and build activity based on engineering needs.
- Manage job lists, deadlines and deliverables to ensure on‑time execution of all objectives.
- Allocate responsibilities and lead the day‑to‑day workload of individuals within your function area.
- Oversee the design of new equipment, test rigs, methods and software tools to support data processing and analysis.
- Ensure results are clearly communicated, reported and stored for future use.
- Drive strategic improvements in test methods, instrumentation and processes to boost efficiency and data quality.
- Provide regular updates to the Head of T&D, highlighting successes and flagging risks early.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Degree‑level education (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience in a similar role within motorsport.
- Strong CAD capability — ideally with Catia and 3DX.
- Ability to lead development projects through to successful delivery.
- A creative and innovative mindset with a strong problem‑solving approach.
- Calm, confident decision‑making under pressure.
- Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage both your workload and others’.
