Ready to revolutionize healthcare, making it faster and more accessible than ever before?
About The Role
HeliosX is seeking a global Compliance Manager to play a central role in strengthening and scaling the company’s corporate compliance program as the business continues to grow and expand internationally. Reporting to the Head of Legal, this role will focus on putting clear, workable compliance foundations in place, improving visibility of risk, and supporting effective decision‑making at executive and board level. This is a corporate compliance role, focused on policies, frameworks, training and risk reporting within a fast‑growing international business. This role would be a great fit for someone who has previous experience building and designing a compliance program, is comfortable working through ambiguity, and takes a pragmatic approach. You will work closely across the Clinical, Finance, People and Operations teams. While you will collaborate closely with the clinical team and your work will overlap, this role does not own clinical or regulatory compliance.
What You’ll Do
- Run a gap analysis of the existing compliance framework and requirements to identify targeted next steps, including governance and oversight arrangements that are appropriate for the company’s size, structure and stage of growth.
- Design and embed a scalable corporate compliance framework that supports a growing regulated business working across day‑to‑day operations in multiple jurisdictions.
- Develop and maintain core compliance materials, including policies, procedures and standards (excluding clinical and regulatory compliance).
- Ensure complex legal and regulatory requirements are transposed into clear, practical actions, supporting teams as they introduce new controls, disclosures or processes.
- Maintain a clear view of corporate compliance risks across the group, including identifying new or emerging issues as the business grows.
- Work with internal stakeholders to run periodic risk assessments, helping to identify, assess and mitigate compliance risks across the various business functions and geographic regions, developing risk registers, metrics and dashboards that provide meaningful insight for senior leadership.
- Regularly analyse and use data creatively to improve internal processes and act on developments in compliance regulations and laws, keep controls up to date and report findings to the Head of Legal for executive and board reporting.
- Conduct desktop due diligence on the supply chain and partners.
- Work in partnership with the People / Training & Development team to design and deliver training and communications on our policies and procedures, ensuring employees have a clear understanding of compliance obligations and ethical standards.
- Act as the subject‑matter expert for corporate compliance topics, contributing materials, guidance and case studies rather than owning delivery.
- Support international expansion by identifying corporate compliance considerations in new markets, such as governance expectations and internal controls, ensuring the company is compliance‑ready for launch.
- Support the operation of the company’s whistleblowing arrangements for compliance‑related concerns across all jurisdictions.
- Conduct internal investigations, in conjunction with Clinical, People and other stakeholders, to address any alleged breach of rules, regulations or policies, and develop other measures designed to enforce the Code of Conduct, ensuring investigations are handled fairly, consistently and efficiently.
- Help ensure outcomes and learnings are reflected in improvements to controls, policies, training or ways of working.
Who You Are
- Significant experience (typically 6+ years, or equivalent) in a corporate compliance, risk, governance or internal controls role.
- Demonstrable experience building or improving compliance approaches in fast‑growing or developing environments.
- Strong background in compliance risk management, including preparing materials for senior leadership or board‑level discussion.
- Comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders in commercially driven organisations.
- Practical, solutions‑focused approach, with the confidence to exercise judgement rather than relying on rigid rules.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain risk clearly and proportionately to non‑specialists.
- Exposure to regulated sectors such as healthtech, fintech, payments or similar.
- Experience supporting international operations or expansion.
- Familiarity with recognised compliance or risk frameworks and governance practices.
- Experience working alongside legal and clinical teams without duplicating regulatory ownership.
- An additional language would be advantageous (especially German or Portuguese).
