Job Description:

A growing Japanese technology company is seeking an FP&A Manager to oversee finance operations across the UK and Europe.

This hands‑on role offers wide exposure to regional accounting, monthly reporting, and financial planning during a key expansion phase in Europe.

You will collaborate closely with external accounting partners and leadership teams, contributing directly to decision‑making and operational improvement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for regional finance operations and management reporting for the UK and Europe.
  • Manage end‑to‑end finance operations across the region.
  • Handle accurate and timely invoicing for key accounts and SMB clients.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and all bank transactions.
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms on statutory filings, VAT returns, payroll input, and year‑end audits.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and European GAAP, VAT regulations, and other applicable financial rules.
  • Maintain financial documentation aligned with audit and legal requirements.
  • Prepare and consolidate monthly management accounts.
  • Support internal financial forecasting and scenario modelling (as needed).
  • Assist with preliminary business analysis for market entry or partnership evaluation.
  • Provide general support to leadership on finance‑related matters.

Ideal Candidate (Requirements)

  • Practical experience in finance or accounting.
  • Hands‑on experience with invoicing, AR/AP management, and monthly closing.
  • Experience coordinating with external accountants.
  • Basic knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, or VAT regulations.
  • Strong accuracy, responsibility, and ability to manage deadlines independently.
  • Business‑level English communication skills.
  • Experience with finance or accounting in the UK and/or Europe.
  • Experience in a start‑up or small, fast‑growing organisation.
  • Experience in FP&A (forecasting, budget management, or financial modelling).
  • Japanese language skills (for coordination with Japan HQ).
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a scaling business environment.
