What will you be doing?

RSPCA Bournemouth is in a period of transition, and becoming a CIO in February 26. We run a veterinary clinic, with subsidised prices to assist people on low incomes. The challenge is balancing the books – the clinic historically works at a constant loss (in the past, we’ve been fortunate to receive some major legacies). The Treasurer will work closely with other Trustees and staff to maximise the potential income needed to cover this loss without eating into our reserves.

A number of the current board are coming to the end of their terms, including the Treasurer.

The Treasurer will work closely with the Chairman of the Board and with the Clinic Manager to ensure the smooth running of the finances. An experienced bookkeeper maintains Xero and does payroll, and will be supported by the Treasurer.

Applicants must be based within a reasonable distance of our operating area, namely, Bournemouth and West Hampshire, and able to attend at least some Board meetings in Bournemouth in person
