I’m currently partnering with a highly respected, award-nominated accountancy practice that is expanding its Audit team in Milton Keynes. We’re looking for an Audit Senior or Assistant Manager who is ready to step into a role with real responsibility and long-term potential.

The Opportunity

This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys a mix of audit and accounts work (approximately 80% audit / 20% accounts) and wants to join a supportive team where quality, collaboration, and development are at the forefront.

You’ll be reporting to Audit Managers while overseeing and mentoring junior staff — an excellent step up for those wanting to grow their supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver audits for clients with turnovers up to £250m, including specialist sectors such as charities, solicitors, pensions, schools, and regulated industries.
  • Complete audit work to deadlines and within budget, working with minimal supervision.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Prepare draft corporation tax computations, statutory accounts, and consolidated accounts under FRS102.
  • Produce audit findings and recommendations for management.
  • Complete group reporting responsibilities where acting as a component auditor.
  • Undertake larger accounts preparation work for audit‑exempt entities.

Tools & Technology

Experience with any of the following would be an advantage: Proaudit, CCH Accounts Production, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, Alphatax, and Microsoft Office. A laptop will be provided.

What We’re Looking For

  • ACA/ACCA Qualified or Finalist level.
  • Minimum 2.5 years’ experience in a UK practice environment, with consistent audit exposure.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to take ownership of audit files.
  • Confident communicator who can work effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Someone who thrives in a mixed role involving both complex audits and less straightforward accounts assignments.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and competing priorities.
