A fast-growing organisation is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to support its London workforce, with a strong focus on payroll oversight and people operations.

This is a senior, hands‑on role for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working closely with leadership and operational teams while ensuring accurate, compliant payroll and effective HR delivery within a regulated environment.

The Role

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will act as a key advisor to leadership teams while overseeing core HR and payroll processes for the London site. You will support organisational growth by ensuring people operations run efficiently, payroll is delivered accurately, and employees are supported through effective HR practices.

You will work closely with finance, leadership, and operational teams to maintain strong payroll governance, compliance, and workforce planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders to support people strategy and workforce planning
  • Oversee the end‑to‑end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery
  • Ensure compliance with UK payroll regulations, tax requirements, pensions, and statutory reporting
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations, performance management, and organisational development
  • Support the delivery of HR operations, benefits administration, and HR systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR and payroll processes, systems, and reporting
  • Support talent attraction, retention, and succession planning initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law, payroll legislation, and internal policies

What are we looking for?

  • Strong experience overseeing or managing UK payroll processes
  • Experience working in a regulated or fast‑paced industry (life sciences, pharma, biotech, or similar preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and payroll legislation
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Pragmatic, detail‑oriented, and comfortable balancing strategic and operational responsibilities
