Early Learning & Childcare Officer (Temporary)
Responsibilities
Contribute to the provision of a safe, caring and stimulating nursery environment for all children; implement a relevant curriculum in line with national and local guidance; plan, record, implement and evaluate suitable programmes of activities; maintain and record children’s assessment progress; promote parental participation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience working or training in an early learning and childcare setting
- Awareness of assessment and documentation of children’s learning in line with national and local guidance
- Ability to plan and deliver a relevant and inclusive curriculum
- Knowledge of child development and ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
- Relevant practice qualification in early learning and childcare such as HNC in Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7, SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent
- Must meet the registration requirements of SSSC as Practitioner of Day Care of Children Service within the designated timeline
Work Details
Temporary post, subject to business needs and funding for 12 months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is earlier.
Background Check
Successful applicants will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, with the level of check determined by the duties of the post.
