I am working with a prestigious Investment firm based in London who are looking for a sharp, technically-minded Junior Data Engineer to join their Technology function. This team acts as a vital bridge for their deal teams, creating the data frameworks used to evaluate major opportunities across the EMEA region.

This is a brilliant opening for a data professional to build and maintain the technological foundations of a sophisticated platform. The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys transforming fragmented market information into high-level structured intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Integration: Extract and compile complex datasets from both internal and external origins, including the management of API feeds and custom scripting.
  • Systems Architecture: Designing and deploying internal improvements to ensure infrastructure is scalable and manual tasks are automated.
  • Cloud & ETL: Constructing the necessary frameworks for the extraction, transformation, and loading of data using AWS and SQL.
  • Visual Analytics: Developing bespoke tools, specifically leveraging Tableau, to provide clear visibility into business performance and capital deployment.
  • Data Governance: Overseeing data accuracy by establishing robust quality checks and formal governance protocols.
  • Team Collaboration: Working alongside investment and finance specialists to turn commercial requirements into technical data solutions.
  • Academic Background: A strong degree in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Engineering, or Data Science.
  • Technical Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a data engineering or highly similar technical role.
  • Software Proficiency: Excellent hands-on skills with Python and SQL.
  • Modern Tooling: A solid grasp of data warehousing concepts, including exposure to Snowflake and AWS.
  • Visualisation: Previous experience using BI platforms like Tableau is highly advantageous.
  • Personal Attributes: A self-motivated individual with a meticulous eye for detail and a creative approach to problem-solving.
