We’re looking for a technically strong and analytical Performance Support Engineer to support our maintenance depots in driving measurable improvements across fleet reliability, process efficiency and individual performance.

This is a key engineering role focused on turning performance data into practical, operational improvements that reduce failures and strengthen depot capability.

 

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Monitoring, recording and analysing fleet performance data (Bugle, TRUST, XV and other systems)
  • Identifying trends and failure modes to inform technical and production decisions
  • Investigating and producing performance and safety-related reports
  • Supporting Joint Performance Improvement Programme (JPIP) initiatives
  • Providing engineering expertise to production teams
  • Coaching and developing depot staff to improve fault-finding capability
  • Delivering specialist technical mentoring and training
  • Supporting fleet incident management, including on-call duties where required

What You’ll Bring

  • HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within traction & rolling stock
  • Strong technical knowledge of rolling stock maintenance standards
  • Understanding of railway operating, safety and performance systems
  • Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Strong Excel, Power BI skills desirable
  • High attention to detail and strong IT capability
  • Confident communicator able to influence operational teams
