Job Description:
Working as part of a small friendly team to ensure all waste and recycling services are undertaken in a way to segregate all waste streams to ensure they are disposed of correctly to avoid cross contamination and to maximise potential rebates for the company
- Operating recycling equipment machinery / balers etc
- Rotating around different sites
- Segregating waste to avoid contamination
- Distribution, collection and emptying of bins from Operational areas
- Keeping recycling area tidy
- Reporting equipment faults and requesting supply orders
- Managing waste / arranging collections
- Maintaining tidy dedicated internal waste / recycling areas
- When required, during periods of cover, driving a dedicated Luton van to distribute bins and materials between sites
- Reporting incidents / breakdowns / hazards and near misses
- Driving a counterbalance truck with rotator forks to carry bins and to load trailers with bales, and in accordance with a valid license
- Encouraging good segregation behavior to drive recycling rates up, rebates up and general waste costs down
- Providing absence cover to the rest of the team, which may be at other sites from time to time
- Carrying out some warehouse cleaning, floor sweeping / scrubbing (when time allows)
- Potentially some grounds maintenance cover (if willing and interested in this task)
- In all aspects of the role, operating plant and equipment in accordance with a valid license, company safety procedures, legal requirements and training for that vehicle/equipment.
