About the Role
As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across Key Stages, supporting students in developing literacy, analytical, and communication skills. You will play a vital role in raising attainment, preparing students for examinations, and nurturing confidence in both written and spoken English.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum
Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners
Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and high expectations
Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations and internal assessments
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum resources and share best practice
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress
Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
Strong subject knowledge and passion for literature and language
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
