Laser Punch Operator New opportunity at this busy sheet metal fabrication company for someone to operate this Amada Laser Punch combination machine. You will produce high-quality components to drawing specifications, and contribute to a safe, efficient workshop environment.
This role can be offered on a day, late or night shift and the company has flexibility to adjust start and finish times to suit.
Key responsibilities – Set up, program and operate Amada Laser Punch equipment for production runs – Interpret engineering drawings, nesting plans and work orders accurately – Load tooling, fixtures and materials; adjust machine parameters for material type and thickness – Monitor production for quality; perform in-process inspections and final checks – Carry out basic preventative maintenance and routine cleaning of machines – Report faults and work with maintenance to resolve issues quickly to minimise downtime – Maintain accurate production records, timesheets and material usage logs – Follow health & safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Required skills and experience – Proven experience operating Amada Laser Punch machines – Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and tooling – Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and CNC programmes – Competent in basic machine setup, tool changes and minor troubleshooting – Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts – Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team – Physically able to handle materials and stand for extended periods
