Job Summary
MDMS is recruiting Midday Meal Supervisors to work in primary schools across the South Kesteven district. This role is vital in maintaining the safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour of pupils during the lunchtime period.
The Midday Meal Supervisor ensures that mealtimes and associated play periods run smoothly, providing structure, supervision, and support for children across a range of ages.
Key Responsibilities
The role of a Midday Meal Supervisor includes, but is not limited to:
Supervising pupils in dining areas, classrooms, corridors, and playgrounds
Supporting pupils during mealtimes, including younger or vulnerable children
Encouraging polite, respectful, and positive behaviour
Ensuring awareness of pupils’ dietary requirements, allergies, and medical needs
Managing safe transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces
Supervising outdoor and indoor play, promoting inclusive games and activities
De-escalating minor conflicts calmly and effectively
Providing reassurance to pupils who may feel anxious or upset
Administering basic first aid where necessary (training provided)
Reporting accidents, incidents, or safeguarding concerns to school staff
Following school policies and procedures while working collaboratively with lunchtime supervisors and teachers
