Job Description:

We are working with a growing hedge fund based in London who are seeking an experienced Head of Fund Control to lead its fund control function.

The fund trades a broad cross-product strategy, and the successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise in instrument-level pricing, NAV production, and complex reconciliations, alongside the leadership capability to evolve into a firm-wide finance executive role.

The Role

You will take ownership of the end-to-end fund control process, ensuring accuracy, robustness, and transparency across all valuation and reporting activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full oversight of instrument-level pricing across a cross-product portfolio (listed and OTC)
  • Ownership and review of NAV production
  • Management of daily, monthly and quarterly reconciliations (P&L, positions, cash, counterparties)
  • Oversight of fund administrators and external service providers
  • Valuation governance and challenge process
  • Enhancement of controls, policies, and operational infrastructure
  • Direct engagement with Portfolio Managers, Risk, Operations and external auditors
  • Leading and developing the fund control team

The Opportunity

This role is positioned as a successor-track opportunity. Over the next 2–3 years, the successful candidate will broaden their remit to include:

  • Regulatory reporting
  • Treasury and liquidity management
  • Strategic finance initiatives
  • Board and investor engagement

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a senior fund control professional with:

  • Significant hedge fund experience, ideally in a multi-asset or cross-product environment
  • Deep expertise in complex instrument valuation (derivatives, structured products, financing instruments)
  • Strong understanding of NAV oversight and fund accounting frameworks
  • Experience managing administrators and external counterparties
  • Proven leadership capability and the gravitas to operate at executive level
  • A qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent (preferred)
