The Role
Reporting to the Electrical Engineering & Automation Team Leader, you will join a close‑knit team. You’ll play a key role in the conceptual and detailed design of special‑purpose machinery.
This role is predominantly office‑based, particularly as manufacturing is on‑site and collaboration with production teams is key.
Responsibilities
- Creating electrical circuit designs from written specifications
- Producing complete schematic drawing packages
- Generating and maintaining Bills of Materials within the ERP system
- Designing for manufacture and assembly
- Liaising with suppliers on purchased components
- Supporting production, service, and sales teams
- Developing test plans and procedures
- Supporting projects to demanding timescales and budgets
About You
We’re looking for a motivated and practical Electrical Design Engineer who thrives in a collaborative engineering environment.
Essential Qualifications
- 1+ year of EPLAN experience would be desirable, however other electrical CAD packages will be considered.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical
- Degree, HND or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering
- Strong understanding of electrical circuit diagrams and symbols
- Proven experience in electrical hardware design
- Knowledge of EN60204 and EN13849
