Principal Consultant- Legal Marketing, BD & Communications at Ambition UK & Europe
We are delighted to be working exclusively with a prestigious law firm to recruit a strategic and experienced Business Development Director to lead and elevate the BD function in its London office. This is a high-impact leadership role with full partner support and global visibility.
About the Role
This newly created position offers the opportunity to shape the business development strategy for a high-performing London team. You’ll work closely with senior partners and report directly to the global Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, cross-border environment and is passionate about driving growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and expand the London BD team, currently comprising two BD Managers.
- Partner with practice groups to identify and pursue strategic BD opportunities.
- Develop and implement targeted BD plans aligned with firm-wide priorities.
- Guide client targeting, relationship expansion, and cross-border initiatives.
- Oversee pitch and proposal development, marketing collateral, and thought leadership.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in business development and marketing within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Proven leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Strong strategic thinking and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience working in an international or US-headquartered firm is highly desirable.
