Title: Trader Operator – Fertilizers

Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by a rapidly growing, tech-led trading business with continued and sustained expansion plans into 2026. The trading house is well-capitalised and uniquely positioned in the chemicals and fertilizer space; bringing a tech-led platform and reshaping the trading landscape in their niche.
Our client has seen a rapid expansion of their commercial team over the past 2 years and anticipates further growth into 2026. As a result, a requirement has arisen for a trade operator to join the middle/back office team; supporting the commercial department with handling execution and fulfilment of purchase/sale contracts, documentation and administration of the physical trading department.
You will be:
- Processing and executing Sale and Purchase contracts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery and compliance
- Working with logistics and transportation partners to arrange the transportation of goods via land and sea
- Handling Bills of Lading/LCs and other documentation related to the physical trading agreements
- Assisting with approving, issuing and advising of Letters of Credit for the purchase and sale of fertilizers
- Handling shipment data and administration, ensuring up to date records and providing updates to counterparties relating to the logistics/transportation of commodities as required
- Producing shipping/live-status reports on live trades, supporting the trading team with requests in relation to physical operations queries
- Processing payments and submitting documentation to suppliers and logistics providers
We would love to speak to you if you have:
- A minimum of 1 year experience working in an operations/traffic role in a physical commodity trading house or similar
- A professional and accurate/expedient approach to administration and documentation tasks
- Good computer/office skills (particularly with Excel/G-Suite/Sheets or similar)
- A high standard of accuracy and accountability
- Solid grasp of supply chain/logistics and operational matters relating to the commodity markets
