We are looking to recruit a Director of Product Strategy & Portfolio for a leading software company on an initial 6 month contract. This is a senior strategic role responsible for defining enterprise-wide product vision, aligning product portfolios, and ensuring investment decisions deliver measurable customer and commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate long‑term product vision and enterprise product strategy
  • Establish a unified strategic framework that aligns product direction across portfolios
  • Lead strategic roadmap planning and guide prioritisation with Product Directors
  • Drive market, customer, and competitive analysis to inform investment decisions
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on product positioning and long‑term planning
  • Build strong relationships across product, engineering, and commercial teams
  • Develop business cases for major initiatives, including ROI modelling and market sizing
  • Lead portfolio governance, prioritisation, and lifecycle management
  • Champion data‑driven decision‑making and customer‑centric product strategy
  • Provide leadership, development, and direction to senior product managers and directors

Qualifications

  • Deep expertise in product strategy, product portfolio management, and market analysis
  • Strong financial and commercial literacy, including P&L and ROI modelling

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience operating in enterprise software, public sector, or multi‑market technology environments
  • Experience shaping strategy across multiple product lines

  • Knowledge of public sector technology, policy trends, or international markets
