The UK & Ireland business is now looking to welcome an ambitious and progressive Finance Director to join UK Exec team to help shape and guide the next stage of the company’s journey. Reporting to the UK & Ireland MD. Astute, commercial, and well qualified, you will already have solid financial management experience and are ready to take the next step in your career, demonstrating willingness and enthusiasm about working as part of a global finance community across the company.
The FD will be the confident voice of finance strategy on the UK Exec Team, bringing positive challenge and championing fresh thinking to help ensure the company achieves growth grounded in solid yet entrepreneurial financial decision making. You will be passionate about people development and helping your team be the best they can be. Working closely with global finance leaders across the organisation you will share best practice, adopt new approaches and drive innovation reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and profitability goals.
- Lead the team of finance professionals, providing mentoring, learning opportunities and professional guidance.
- Manage all relevant internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with departments across the business to drive cost efficiencies and optimise financial performance.
- Provide strategic advice to the Exec team, Directors and Global Finance Team.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Actively monitor market trends and key economic indicators to support informed financial decision making.
- Instil a culture of continuous performance improvement across the finance team and financial processes.
- Develop effective cross-functional working relationships across the UK & Ireland business and across the group.
- Act as a company ambassador, internally and externally, consistently living and breathing the culture and values.
Requirements
- Proven and extensive leadership experience as Finance Director or senior finance role.
- Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or a related field (Master’s degree or professional qualifications such as ACA or FCCA preferred).
- Experienced, skilled and motivating people leader.
- Positively challenge and influence leadership decision making.
- In-depth knowledge of current UK financial regulations and future changes.
- Ability to engage and confidently inform leadership colleagues across the UK and broader global business.
- A strategic thinker who is self-motivated, organised with a high level of attention to detail.
- Commutable to Brierley Hill HQ. This role is office based.
- Some international travel to work with global finance colleagues.
- Ideally with a background in manufacturing or distribution gained in an organisation with an international footprint.
