An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join our Cardiology team. This role is ideal for a dynamic nurse with a strong background in cardiac care who is ready to take the next step in leadership and clinical responsibility.
As a Band 6 nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with complex cardiac conditions. You will act as a clinical role model, supporting junior staff and students while coordinating the day-to‑day management of the ward/unit in the absence of the Ward Manager.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients presenting with conditions such as acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, heart failure, and post‑cardiac interventions. You will be expected to demonstrate advanced clinical decision‑making skills and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
- Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct. Will contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
- Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients/carers and the multi‑professional team.
- A skilled practitioner and clinical leader providing support to the management team, participating in service/policy development.
- Responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients and management of a team, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented and evaluated/audited.
- Organisation of cross‑departmental/organisational activities including HR.
