Job Description:

Mazco Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established aerospace manufacturer based in Bitton, Bristol. Working with precision aerospace components, the inspection team plays a critical role in ensuring only fully conforming parts are supplied to customers. Working shifts aligned with the shop floor, you will be a self-starter who can manage your own workload while supporting machining teams to maintain the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure no product non-conformity escapes to customers
  • Carry out accurate measurement of product features to determine conformance to drawings and models
  • Select appropriate measurement strategies based on tolerance requirements
  • Perform inspection activities including:
    • First-off inspection
    • In-process inspection
    • Pre/post subcontract inspection
    • Final inspection
  • Complete Process Control Plans
  • Support improvements to inspection processes to increase efficiency
  • Plan and perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies
  • Conduct inspection processes to meet customer, regulatory and internal requirements
  • Program and operate Aberlink CNC CMMs using 2D drawings and 3D models
  • Program and operate optical measuring machines (e.g. Keyence, shaft scanners)
  • Measure products, tooling and fixtures as required
  • Produce digital reports for PPAP, FAIR and improvement activities
  • Analyse measurement data to determine calibration methods and frequencies
  • Organise calibration of measurement equipment traceable to national standards
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the inspection area

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong experience using manual inspection equipment and CNC CMMs
  • Knowledge of Aberlink programming (offline programming desirable)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience inspecting aerospace components to tight tolerances
  • Ability to select appropriate measurement equipment for part verification
  • Experience working within an AS/EN/JISQ 9100 quality management system
  • Ability to raise clear NCR reports and support root cause investigations
  • Competent with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Self‑motivated, organised and able to work independently
  • Team player with a proactive approach to quality and continuous improvement

Shift Pattern – Double Days

Morning ShiftMonday – Thursday: 6:00am – 2:00pmFriday: 6:00am – 11:00am

Afternoon ShiftMonday – Thursday: 2:00pm – 10:00pmFriday: 11:00am – 4:00pm

Pay Rate

£16.00 per hour + 25% shift allowance
