Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for an ambitious Civils Quantity Surveyor on behalf of athrivingcivil engineering main contractor to work on projects across West Yorkshire – particularly Calderdale & Kirklees.
Thisfamily-run main contractor has been established over50 years andhas a strong name in the region. The civil engineering company boastsa significant amount of long-standing staff and a professionalworking environment where progression is within reach for everyone. The regional team is made up of a large proportion of people having moved there from Tier 1 and large main contractors, this is credit to their fantastic culture across the team. Following an influx of project wins, they are looking to add a Quantity Surveyor to their strong regional team. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for taking total control of their own projects from ECI phase through to completion.
Upcoming 4-5 schemes secured in Calderdale & Kirklees – 50m+ of work to deliver.Scope of works:highways, junctions, public realm / streetworks etc. General Civil Engineering works. Projects up to 15m value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure sub-contractors in line withprogramme and company policy
- Working alongside Site Agent and rest of site/delivery team to monitor progress and to producemonthly preliminaries & budgets
- Assess and process sub-contractors applications and issuingpayment notifications
- Produceinternal valuations, sub-contract liabilities and CVR’s
- Final accounts agreement
- Contract administration
- Measurement of quantities – from drawings & on site
- Evaluation of variations
- Material cost control
- Prepare of Valuations and Final Accounts
