Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be supporting our client in the distilling industry in Speyside as they look to strengthen their automation team with the appointment of a number of Controls Engineers.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team responsible for ensuring the continued operation, optimisation and improvement of multiple distillery sites across the region.
The team plays a critical role in keeping production running smoothly while delivering automation improvements, commissioning new systems and supporting major capital projects.
The Role
As a Control Engineer, you will work across a network of distillery sites supporting automation systems and plant operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the operation and reliability of distillery automation systems
Fault finding and troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment
Working on automation improvements and process optimisation projects
Supporting commissioning and automation upgrades across sites
Contributing to capital projects and plant improvement initiatives
Working closely with wider engineering and project teams
You will also play a key role in ensuring plants remain operational and efficient while helping deliver long-term improvements to automation systems.
The Team
You will join an experienced team of Control Engineers who support a number of distillery sites across the region, covering approximately a 40-mile radius.
The role offers excellent variety, working across both operational support and project-based automation work.
What We’re Looking For
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
A time-served electrical background
Experience working with PLC-controlled systems
Strong fault-finding skills within automated environments
A proactive, problem-solving mindset
The ability to work autonomously and under pressure when required
Candidates from manufacturing, process, automation, industrial electrical backgrounds preferably but other backgrounds will all be considered.
