About the RoleWe are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with complex needs and behavioural challenges in a school setting within the S63 area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to access their education.

You will be working closely with pupils who may have a range of needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them to engage positively with learning and school life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEND needs

  • Support students with challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities

  • Help create a safe, supportive and structured learning environment

  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress

  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with SEND pupils, particularly those with complex needs or behavioural challenges

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • The ability to build trust and positive relationships with students

  • A passion for supporting children to reach their full potential

  • Relevant education or care experience (school, support work, youth work, care settings etc.)
