About Qalyup

At Qalyup, we believe people should be able to access the healthcare they need to improve their health and quality of life.

Every year, thousands of patients travel internationally for medical treatment. While this can unlock faster access to care and specialised expertise, it can also carry significant risks. Between 2019 and 2024, 28 British nationals died while undergoing medical treatment overseas. And that is only the visible part of a much larger problem.

Qalyup exists to change that.

We connect patients with vetted, high quality healthcare providers abroad, helping people return home healthier and with peace of mind. To ensure trust and transparency, we personally visit and assess clinics using our proprietary clinical quality assessment methodology, developed through academic research at Imperial College London.

Our mission is simple: make healthcare tourism safer. But our ambition is global.

As we develop our go-to-market strategy, we are looking for an experienced Strategic Marketing Advisor to join our advisory board. This person will help shape the foundations of our brand reputation, guide our customer acquisition strategy, and support the growth of Qalyup as a trusted gateway to safer healthcare abroad.

The Role

This is an opportunity to help shape the marketing strategy of a purpose driven healthcare startup from the earliest stages.

As a Marketing Strategy Advisor, you will guide our leadership team in developing a focused and effective go to market approach. Your work will help us reach our first patients, build trust in a sensitive healthcare category, and establish Qalyup as a credible voice in safer healthcare tourism.

Your insight will help us bridge a critical gap by making international healthcare feel safe, transparent, and trustworthy for patients.

What You’ll Help Us Do

  • Shape the strategic roadmap for Qalyup’s marketing function
  • Advise on go-to-market strategy and early customer acquisition
  • Support the development of a trusted healthcare brand
  • Help refine positioning, messaging, and storytelling
  • Guide cost-effective B2C growth strategies suitable for an early-stage startup
  • Provide strategic insight into UK consumer behaviour and trust dynamics in healthcare

What You Bring In

  • Significant marketing leadership experience, ideally in healthcare, healthtech, or regulated industries
  • Proven track record of building trusted brands
  • Successfully driven B2C customer acquisition with limited resources
  • Deep understanding of the British public, their concerns, and decision-making around healthcare
  • Ideally past experience working with or advising startups or early-stage companies
  • Alignment with our mission-driven and social impact purpose
