Employment Lawyer (3-4 Years’ PQE)

Currently recruiting for a reputable boutique commercial law firm who are seeking a talented Employment Lawyer to join their successful team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Head of Employment on a diverse range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters for a varied client base, including SMEs, senior executives, large corporates and individuals.

The successful candidate will have the autonomy to manage their own caseload with appropriate supervision, contribute to the wider team initiatives, and play a key role in shaping the firm’s forward-thinking employment practice. You’ll have direct client contact, be actively involved in business development, and help enhance the firm’s reputation in employment law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing advice to both employers and employees on a broad spectrum of employment law issues.
  • Managing Employment Tribunal claims from inception to completion, including drafting pleadings, witness statements, and negotiating settlements.
  • Drafting employment contracts, service agreements, policies, and staff handbooks.
  • Conducting workplace investigations, managing disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies, and TUPE processes.
  • Advising on exits for directors and senior executives, safeguarding confidential information, and drafting restrictive covenants.
  • Supporting corporate transactions through due diligence and employment-related documentation.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships with clear, pragmatic, business-focused advice.
  • Contributing to thought leadership, marketing, and business development activities.

Skills & Experience:

  • A solid understanding of both contentious and non-contentious employment issues.
  • Proven experience handling Employment Tribunal litigation independently.
  • Exceptional drafting skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented advice.
  • Confidence in managing client relationships and actively participating in client development.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritise effectively.
  • A collaborative mindset, eager to support team efforts.
