The Red Practice in Walton-on-Thames is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team for 5-6 sessions per week, starting April/May 2026.

We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced GPs who are passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a collaborative and well-organised primary care setting.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work as part of our multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality primary care services to our patient population. Duties will include:

Providing safe, effective, and patient-centred GP consultations

Managing acute and chronic conditions within the practice setting

Undertaking telephone and face-to-face consultations as appropriate

Reviewing pathology results, clinical correspondence, and prescribing requests

Working collaboratively with practice nurses, HCAs, pharmacists, and other PCN staff

Participating in clinical meetings and contributing to quality improvement activities

Supporting the practices commitment to training and professional development

Workload is supported by capped Docman workflow and prescription management, as well as home-visiting paramedics, allowing GPs to focus on clinical care

About us

The Red Practice is a well-established, innovative GP practice located in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, delivering high-quality NHS primary care services within a recently refurbished Health Centre with free parking.

Our clinical team currently includes 3 GP Partners and 3 Salaried GPs, supported by 2 Practice Nurses, 2 Healthcare Assistants, and a strong administrative team including clinical coders. Several of our clinicians hold specialist interests in areas such as diabetes, womens health, and minor surgery.

We are a training practice with three clinical supervisors, and we pride ourselves on maintaining a positive team culture with low staff turnover and regular clinical and practice meetings.

The practice is a member of the Walton Practices Confederation PCN, working closely with an in-house multidisciplinary team including pharmacists and social prescribers to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

We are committed to delivering excellent patient-centred care, supported by modern digital systems including EMIS Web, AccuRx, and electronic prescribing, and we were rated Good by the Care Quality Commission

Job Summary

The post-holder will provide high-quality,patient-centred primary care services to the registered patient population atThe Red Practice.

Working as part of a multidisciplinaryteam, the Salaried GP will manage a broad range of clinical presentations,deliver safe and effective consultations, and contribute to the ongoingdevelopment of the practice.

The role includes face-to-face andtelephone consultations, clinical administration, prescribing, andparticipation in quality improvement, teaching, and clinical governanceactivities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Provide face-to-face andtelephone consultations for patients

Assess and manage patients withundifferentiated and complex medical conditions

Diagnose and manage acute andchronic illness

Develop care plans inpartnership with patients

Provide preventativehealthcare, screening and health promotion

Refer patients appropriately tosecondary care and other healthcare professionals

Prescribe in accordance withnational and local prescribing guidance

Review pathology results,clinical correspondence and patient queries

Maintain accurate clinicaldocumentation and patient records

Participate in home visitswhere required

Contribute to QOF, enhancedservices and clinical quality improvement initiatives

Teamworking and Collaboration

Work collaboratively with GPpartners, salaried GPs, nurses, HCAs and administrative staff

Work alongside PCN staffincluding pharmacists and social prescribers

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and a licence to practise.
  • Additional clinical qualifications or recognised special interests.
