We are now looking for a capable and detail focused Finance and Administration Lead to join our team on a part time basis.
This is a structured and responsible role at the centre of our financial control and operational organisation. It suits someone who understands accounting fundamentals, values accuracy and enjoys keeping systems clean and controlled.
The RoleYou will support the financial integrity of the business through consistent review, reconciliation and control, while also providing structured administrative and adhoc PA support to the Managing Director.
You will also provide guidance and oversight to our existing Accounts Administrator, ensuring processes are followed correctly and financial records remain accurate.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing sales, purchase and bank postings
- Identifying and correcting ledger errors
- Posting and reviewing journals, accruals and prepayments
- Reconciling control accounts and trial balance
- Reviewing VAT returns and VAT control accounts
- Monitoring aged debt and supporting credit control
- Reviewing recurring invoices and ensuring revenue completeness
- Ensuring supplier invoices are captured and accrued correctly
- Overseeing day to day transactional processing completed by the Accounts Administrator
- Gathering documentation and coordinating annual business insurance renewals
- Liaising with brokers and external providers
- Managing the Managing Director’s diary and scheduling commitments
- Providing basic PA support including correspondence, organisation and general administrative governance
This is an office based role, Monday to Friday, typically 9.30am to 1.30pm. Some flexibility can be agreed for the right candidate, however the hours are structured.
- AAT Level 3 qualification minimum, or demonstrable experience to that level
- Proven experience working with Sage One
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, journals and VAT
- Solid experience in accounts administration or bookkeeping
- Experience providing oversight or support to junior finance staff
- Excellent attention to detail
- Highly organised with the ability to manage schedules and priorities
- A structured and methodical working style
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
Experience within an SME environment is highly desirable.
