We’re excited to introduce a brand-new opportunity at Royal London Asset Management, created as part of our AI acceleration journey. As an Application Support Specialist, you’ll join a small, highly experienced team that supports and enhances the applications our business relies on.
In this role, you’ll provide technical and business support, with strong problem solving skills to investigate and resolve issues. Working with an established team, this role is ideal for someone early in their career with practical experience, you’ll bring curiosity, adaptability and an interest in AI, alongside exposure to cloud technologies such as Azure or Snowflake.

About the role
- Working in a small team primarily providing business and technical support
- Provide technical support to a range of internal and external systems, with a focus on front office systems and enterprise data management solutions
- Liaising with internal Development team, Business Analysts and external vendors on bug fixes and enhancements
- Acting as the first escalation point for application issues relevant to your system expertise
- Pro-actively identifying opportunities to improve system availability and reduce manual effort
- Cross‑training and presentations for colleagues
- Defining and documenting internal procedures
- Diagnose problems and help manage problems to resolution at an application level focusing on AI
About you
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage, accompanied by a strong interest and willingness to grow:
- Ability to triage, prioritise and respond quickly to technical issues in a busy environment
- Experience within financial services would be beneficial
- Experience supporting and querying Snowflake data platforms, including writing and troubleshooting SQL queries, understanding schemas and environments, and working with Snowflake as part of an enterprise Azure‑integrated data platform
- Experience monitoring and supporting Azure‑hosted Applications including use of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and diagnostic logs to investigate incidents and performance issues
- Exposure to Order Management Systems (OMS)
- Understanding of relational databases, such as Oracle or MS SQL Server
- Exposure to financial messaging applications (e.g., FIX, LiquidNet, Market Axess, OMGEO CTM, TradeWeb)
- Experience dealing with users and/or vendors from both a business and technical perspective
- Experience working in a Support and/or Business Analysis type environment
- Enjoys problem solving and investigation
- Self‑motivated and able to demonstrate initiative
