Job Description:

Solid Structures North West Ltd are looking for a Construction Supervisor to join their expanding team in the centre of St Helens.

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours over 5 days, with a reasonable degree of flexibility as the working schedule requires.

Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee daily site operations to ensure works progress safely, efficiently, and to programme.
  • Coordinate trades and subcontractors to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain health and safety compliance through inspections, supervision, and adherence to regulations.
  • Monitor quality standards, ensuring work meets drawings, specifications, and company expectations.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders, providing updates and resolving on-site issues.
  • Support planning and logistics, including scheduling, material deliveries, and labour management.
  • Maintain site documentation, including progress reports, site records, and variation tracking.

What skills and qualities are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in residential/domestic construction.
  • Strong knowledge of building methods and trades.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and decision‑making skills.
  • Good organisational and time‑management abilities.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Proactive and self‑motivated.

  • Strong work ethic and team‑oriented mindset.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Construction or related trade (desirable).
  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification (preferred).
  • First Aid at Work certification (preferred).
  • Valid driving licence.
