Position

Asbestos Lab Analyst and Quality Checker (Full‑time, Permanent) – Dartford, UK.

The PA Group UK is a multidisciplinary, health and safety executive licensed asbestos removal and UKAS‑accredited asbestos inspection and testing contractor. The company is part of the RSK Group and provides high‑quality services to a mixed portfolio of clients.

Main responsibilities / duties

  • Receiving and appropriately logging samples received by the laboratory.
  • Preparing samples for analysis.
  • Carrying out analysis of samples for fibre content.
  • Reporting analytical findings.
  • Ensuring appropriate storage and retention of samples.
  • Generating certificates of analysis and issuing them to clients, and performing other general laboratory and administrative duties.
  • Quality checking asbestos survey reports.

Generally, the applicant will be flexible, have a strong work ethic, and be able to carry out the work effectively and within required turnaround times.

Person Specification

  • The applicant must have attained the P401 qualification and have significant experience working within this role in a laboratory/office environment and within the asbestos field. Awareness of the requirements of the second edition of HSG248 is desirable.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have good organisational and IT skills.
  • Must have a full UK driving licence and vehicle due to location, or alternative means of transport.
  • Experience in quality checking of asbestos survey reports is desirable but full training can also be provided.
