This role is a shift based position which will require the candidate to work on a 4 shifts on, 4 off rotation. These shifts will rotate between days and nights for example: 2 days 07:00 – 19:00, followed by 2 nights 19:00 – 07:00, 4 days off. This ensures coverage across the London Estate.

Job Overview
- Responsible to a Shift Leader for undertaking electrical/mechanical works on a wide range of building services reactive and planned maintenance across the London Estate.
- Work on a shift basis to ensure 24‑hour coverage, with shift teams balanced for electrical and mechanical support.
- Maintain high standard of planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Use diagnostic equipment and work from technical manuals and drawings.
- Identify visual plant defects, warning lights and indicators.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of building services and proficiency in maintenance of power, distribution and switching, motor controls, lighting systems, standby generators, electrical test procedures and certification, control systems, inverter operation and design, fire alarm/PA systems.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds craft certificate/ONC or equivalent.
- Recognised craft apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Two years post‑apprenticeship experience in a similar role.
- Comprehensive understanding of Building Services.
- C&G L3 in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent desirable.
- Completion of full in‑depth, intrusive security checks.
