Cleaning Operative This is at the rate of £13.50 per hour Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Cleaning Operative on a part-time, permanent basis. Reporting to: Deputy Head of Facilities Services (Cleaning) To maintain a high standard of cleanliness across all assigned areas, helping to provide a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. Assisting with keeping designated areas clean, including hallways, floors, toilets, showers and classrooms as examples. * Using the cleaning equipment and materials to carry out duties safely. This may include diluting and using cleaning chemicals, as instructed following COSHH regulations. * Operating cleaning machinery in accordance with instructions and within Health & Safety guidelines and to keep such machinery in a clean and safe condition, reporting faults to the Deputy Head of Facilities Services (Cleaning). * Carrying out emergency cleaning as required – this may be as a result of accidents or sickness as examples. * Taking appropriate Health & Safety precautions, where necessary, whilst carrying out required duties, thereby ensuring the personal safety of all staff, pupils and visitors. * The ability to work both alone and in a team. * The ability to speak confidently and courteously to parents, pupils and staff at all levels of seniority. * In-house cleaning training will be provided to NVQ level 2 standards. Monday to Friday, 5.00pm to 9.00pm and Sunday, 8.00am to 12.00pm (24 hours per week). This is at the rate of £13.50 per hour. Holidays:23 days, plus bank holidays increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service.
