Salary: £28,216.50 Based on 37.5 hours a week with one sleep-in shift. 

About the Role

As a support worker in residential care and education, your primary responsibility will be to support residents with daily activities, fostering independence, confidence, resilience, and personal growth. You will engage in a range of farm-related and outdoor activities alongside residents, supporting their participation in social, recreational, and skill-building programmes tailored to their interests and abilities.

The role involves assisting residents with social outings, including visits to local places of worship, and helping them develop life skills within a safe and supportive environment. Working closely with a dedicated team, you will contribute to a positive and enriching experience for all residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support residents in their daily lives, encouraging independence and personal confidence
  • Assist with outdoor and farm-related activities, promoting engagement and wellbeing
  • Support participation in social, recreational, and skill development programmes
  • Help facilitate social outings, including trips to places of worship as required
  • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing environment for residents
  • Work collaboratively with team members to promote residents’ personal growth

Candidate Requirements

  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities
  • Flexibility to participate in a range of indoor and outdoor activities
  • Positive and proactive attitude towards care work
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to residents’ needs
  • Ability to drive and confidence to take residents out in the service vehicle
  • Previous experience in care or support work is advantageous but not essential
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, person-centred planning, and safeguarding protocols is desirable
