Senior UX / Product Designer (Contract)
Overview Ocho is delighted to be working on behalf of our client to appoint a Senior UX / Product Designer for a high-impact contract role within a complex, data-heavy product environment.
This is not a “make it pretty” UI role. This is a senior-level position where you will own problems end-to-end, working across multiple enterprise applications in a regulated, professional-user setting.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, shaping structured workflows, translating ambiguous stakeholder requirements into clear product experiences, and designing tools that demand speed, clarity and precision.
This is a Belfast-based role with 2 days per week onsite. 6-month and 12-month contract options are available.
Key Responsibilities Lead discovery workshops with business and product stakeholders Translate complex, messy requirements into structured user flows and interaction models Design data-heavy dashboards, analytics tools and workflow-driven interfaces Capture edge cases, unhappy paths and complex state logic across journeys Contribute to and extend scalable design systems Partner closely with engineering in an agile delivery environment Operate independently and influence senior stakeholders with confidence
The Person We Are Looking For 6-10+ years’ experience in UX or Product Design within enterprise or SaaS environments Strong experience designing complex, workflow-driven products rather than marketing sites Advanced Figma capability, including components, auto-layout and scalable system design Experience contributing to or evolving design systems Strong systems thinking with the ability to design for edge cases and logic-heavy flows Confident running stakeholder sessions and defending design decisions Experience within fintech, regulated environments or data-heavy B2B platforms desirable Comfortable working in fast-paced agile teams
Contract Details £400 per day 6-month or 12-month contract options available 2 days per week onsite in Belfast
