Kenton Black are recruiting for an exciting Pre-Construction Project Manager opportunity with a leading Tier 1 main contractor in the Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire area, on a permanent basis.
The client is a nationally recognised contractor renowned for delivering complex, high-value projects across the UK. With a substantial pipeline of secured and forthcoming work in the North East, they are seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Project Manager to lead early-stage project development, ensuring proposals, designs, and delivery strategies are fully coordinated ahead of construction commencement.
Key Responsibilities:
– Manage the pre-construction process from initial enquiry through to handover to delivery teams– Coordinate design development, technical reviews, and value-engineering opportunities– Lead tender submissions, programme preparation, risk assessments, and buildability reviews– Work collaboratively with estimating, planning, design, commercial, and operational teams– Engage with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure project requirements are fully understood and met– Ensure all pre-construction activities follow company governance, compliance standards, and H&S principles– Present proposals, progress updates, and technical solutions to internal and external stakeholders
What You Bring:
– 5+ years’ experience in pre-construction, project management, design management, or technical roles within a main contracting environment– Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and buildability considerations– Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence presenting and influencing– Strong organisational abilities with a proactive, solutions-driven approach– Relevant construction, engineering, or project management qualifications (or equivalent practical experience)
